ReUnDisCovering
recovering - uncovering - discovering
In May 2000, I was diagnosed with Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma, a rare form of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. From 2000-2004, I underwent multiple treatments and also experienced three relapses. In 2004, I had a stem cell transplant which had given me fourteen years of remission. On November 2nd, 2018, I had found out I had cancer (again).
In April 2019, I began journaling daily and started compiling pictures, notes, blog entries and doodles from my then treatment and years prior. The title comes from my April journal, where I wrote [re un dis] cover with a bold black sharpie on the cover page.
This book served as a documentation and an outlet in my processing the complexities of cancer, navigating cancer as an adult versus as a kid, ongoing recovery, and all the other random, and often mundane, things that happened in between.
